Yes, the Suboxone doctors can detox you off drugs like heroin so you don’t feel “dope sick”. Suboxone is given at your first appointment to stop withdrawal symptoms and cravings and starts working within 20-45 minutes.
While you will not feel “high” after you get methadone here, you will feel much better. Methadone stops or lessens any withdrawal symptoms, while not fogging your thoughts or draining your energy to be productive.

The reason Vivitrol isn’t more popular with opioid users is that it can’t be taken until 7-14 days after using drugs or buprenorphine (including Suboxone). You have to be committed to recovery to taper off buprenorphine used in detox, wait 1-2 weeks and then get a Vivitrol shot. But, Vivitrol is a great option for those early in addiction.
