Stabilization-Focused Care Across 15 Clinics in Illinois and Texas
Dr. Steinbrenner earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals (MCWAH) and completed both an Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship and an Integrative Psychiatry Fellowship during her postgraduate training.
Her work includes clinical governance across multi-state treatment programs, prescriber supervision, and the development and ongoing refinement of clinical standards to reflect evolving medical evidence and treatment advances. Dr. Steinbrenner contributed a chapter on Hallucinogen-Assisted Psychotherapy to the 11th edition of Kaplan & Sadock's Comprehensive Textbook of Psychiatry (2024), one of the most widely referenced texts in the field. She presented at the International Congress on Integrative Medicine & Health in both 2024 and 2025 and served on the IV Ketamine Clinical Advisory Committee for the Wisconsin Department of Health Services’ Division of Medicaid Services.
Her work reflects a broader interest in how addiction treatment systems are evolving alongside advances in neuroscience and new therapeutic approaches. Her clinical philosophy emphasizes establishing medical and physiological stability as the foundation for meaningful change, recognizing that the other many aspects of recovery depend on that stability. She is particularly interested in innovation in addiction care and in translating emerging science into practical models of treatment that support improved functioning and quality of life.
