For Healthcare Providers

Your Patients Deserve a Program That Doesn't Give Up on Them

Most patients who come to Symetria have already tried recovery elsewhere, on average, more than twice. We're different: non-punitive, clinically rigorous, and built to keep patients in treatment, not discharge them for setbacks. We partner with providers in Illinois & Texas as well as across the nation.

What Makes Us Different

This Isn't a Traditional Methadone Clinic

The most common objection we hear from potential partners: "Isn't MAT just replacing one substance with another?" The short answer is no, and the reasons are exactly why providers who refer to us keep referring.

48-Hour Access, Not a Wait-List

Most referrals go from submission to a scheduled appointment in ~12 minutes. We confirm the patient's information, verify insurance, and book the visit in one call. Your patient is seen, not wait-listed.

Non-Punitive, Patient-Centered Care

Each patient sets their own goal, whether that is using less, controlling use, or full abstinence. No one is discharged for relapse or continued use. This is by design, and the intrinsic motivation it creates is why 80% of our patients stop using opioids and alcohol within 6 months.*

You Hear Back After You Refer

With your patient's consent, we tell you when they are admitted and update you as treatment progresses. A dedicated referral team works with you directly, not a general intake line.

Everything Under One Roof, Outpatient

FDA-approved MAT (Suboxone and buprenorphine, methadone, oral naltrexone), unlimited individual counseling, IOP group therapy, family counseling, psychiatry services, and on-site pharmacy, all at one outpatient clinic. No inpatient stay required.

How It Works

Refer a Patient in Under Two Minutes

Every partner we talk to has the same three questions: How do I refer? What happens after I refer? How quickly can you see my patient? Here are the answers.

1

You Send Us the Basics

Patient name, phone number, and insurance, that is it. Submit through the patient referral form below, call 866-955-2481, or email partners@symetriarecovery.com. No lengthy paperwork.

2

We Take It From There

Our dedicated referral team reaches out to the patient directly. They handle intake details, confirm insurance, and set the appointment in a single call, typically about 12 minutes during business hours.

3

Patient Seen. Loop Closed.

Your patient is seen within 48 hours. With a signed consent that meets 42 C.F.R. Part 2 requirements that allow for exchange of information, we confirm they were admitted and update you as treatment continues. You stay informed, not left wondering.

FAQ

Provider Questions, Answered

The questions referring providers ask us most, with straight answers.

You can refer a patient three ways: submit the patient referral form on this page, call our partner line at 866-955-2481, or email partners@symetriarecovery.com. We only need the patient's name, phone number, and insurance to get started. From there, our referral team contacts the patient directly and handles intake, eligibility, and scheduling.
This is the question we hear most, and it is the right one to ask. Symetria uses FDA-approved medications (buprenorphine, methadone, oral naltrexone) to normalize the brain chemistry that addiction disrupts. The medication is only one piece. Every patient also receives unlimited individual counseling, IOP group therapy, family counseling, and psychiatry services, all under one roof. The result: within 6 months, 84% of opioid patients and 76% of alcohol patients stop use.* Addiction is a medical disease, and we treat it as one. This is not enabling use, it is treating the condition that drives it.
Same-day and next-day appointments are available at all locations. For PCP referrals, we provide access within 48 hours. For hospital and ED safe discharge, we can schedule them same-day. The intake process runs about 12 minutes during business hours, with demographics, eligibility verification, and scheduling all in a single call. If it is urgent, call our partner line directly at 866-955-2481.
A lot of providers tell us their referrals used to go quiet at other programs. That does not happen here. Our referral team contacts your patient directly and handles everything from intake to scheduling. With a signed consent that meets 42 C.F.R. Part 2 requirements that allow for exchange of information, you get confirmation that they were admitted and updates as treatment continues, as appropriate. The consent controls what can and cannot be shared, so your patient stays in charge. We close the loop because your trust depends on it.
Symetria is in-network with Humana, Medicare, and 50+ other networks, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, and Cigna. The large majority of our patients have commercial insurance or Medicare coverage. For many patients, treatment results in little to no out-of-pocket cost, though coverage varies by individual plan. Our team verifies eligibility during intake so there are no surprises.
Your patient stays in treatment, and that is the fundamental difference. Symetria operates on a non-punitive model with no "three strikes" rule and no discharge for continued use. Most patients who come to us have already tried recovery more than twice elsewhere, often in programs that removed them for setbacks. We believe recovery is not about perfection, it is about progression. Every positive change matters, and we meet patients where they are.
You can stay as involved as you want to be. We add the medical layer for addiction (MAT, physician and nurse care coordination) while you keep your relationship with the patient. With your patient's written consent, we coordinate directly with you so your care and ours stay aligned. Many primary care, behavioral health, and psychiatric partners keep treating the patient for everything beyond their addiction treatment.
Our medical team assesses each patient at intake. Many patients with opioid or alcohol use disorder can begin outpatient medication-assisted treatment without a separate inpatient detox, but that decision is always clinical and made case by case. If a patient needs a higher level of care or medically supervised withdrawal first, we will identify that early and coordinate the appropriate next step.
With a valid patient consent that meets 42 C.F.R. Part 2 requirements, you will receive admission confirmation and only the treatment information the patient has authorized us to share. Because federal confidentiality protections for substance use records are stricter than HIPAA, patients control what information is shared and with whom. Patients may revoke or revise their consent at any time, which may limit or change future information sharing.
We operate 15 outpatient clinics across Illinois (Chicago/Lakeview, Des Plaines, Joliet, Naperville, Palos Heights, Vernon Hills) and Texas (Arlington, College Station, Fort Worth, Frisco, Houston, Hurst, Lewisville, Spring, Sugar Land). We focus on patients within roughly a 27-minute drive of each location. If your patient is nearby, reach out and we will confirm coverage.
