You can schedule a same-day or next-day assessment at our Spring Suboxone® clinic, with admissions staff reachable 24/7. Your first dose comes after your medical provider confirms you are clearly in withdrawal. The timing depends on what you have been using and how recently.
Buprenorphine stops the craving signals in your brain without getting you high. Naloxone is a safety ingredient. If you misuse it, it blocks the rush. Together, they keep you level so you can rebuild your life.
Bring photo ID, your insurance card, and a list of your current medications. Past treatment records such as prescriptions, lab work, or psychiatry notes help you and your medical provider find the right dose faster. You’ll be in withdrawal at your visit. That’s when it’s safe to start. Your provider will confirm the timing with you.
Suboxone® does not appear on a standard opioid drug test. Buprenorphine requires its own dedicated test to detect, so a typical 5-panel screen will not flag it. If a buprenorphine-specific test is used, the result simply confirms you are taking your prescribed medication.
Buprenorphine-based medications, including Suboxone®, are considered appropriate treatment options for opioid use disorder during pregnancy. Continuing treatment matters, because untreated opioid use disorder carries serious risks for both the mother and the baby. Our medical providers coordinate with your OB-GYN through pregnancy and after delivery.
Suboxone® eases cravings and withdrawal, but the patterns, triggers, and life circumstances behind drug use need a different kind of support. Counseling is part of every treatment plan at our Spring clinic and helps you work through them. Evidence suggests that combining Suboxone® with counseling supports stronger outcomes than medication alone.
You and your medical provider work through what to change next. Options include adjusting your Suboxone® dose, adding counseling sessions, treating depression or anxiety alongside your care, or switching to Methadone. Your care continues either way, and we work with you to find the option that fits.
Most common (first few weeks): constipation, headache, sweating, mild nausea. These usually ease. Less common: trouble sleeping, dental issues over time (regular dental visits help). Tell our team about anything new.
You start by taking your dose at our Spring clinic, then move to take-home doses as your treatment stabilizes. Your medical provider decides when each step is safe based on your progress. The timeline varies by patient.
No fixed length. Many patients stay a year or longer. Stopping is your choice, decided together with your provider when the time is right. We never rush you off it.
Combining Suboxone® with benzodiazepines, alcohol, or other sedating medications significantly increases the risk of slowed breathing and overdose. Anyone starting Suboxone® should keep naloxone at home for emergencies.
