What Is an Intensive Outpatient Program?

An IOP is therapy that provides the consistent support you need without disrupting your life—no overnight stay. You get group and one-on-one counseling three times a week while living at home.

Every visit includes group counseling, one-on-one time with your counselor, and hands-on practice for the moments cravings or stress hit hardest.

Groups stay small, twelve people at most, with a Texas-licensed counselor leading each one. Your group may include neighbors from across North Dallas: a parent from Flower Mound, a shift worker from Carrollton, a nurse from Highland Village.

9+ Hours

of structured counseling each week

Small Groups

Twelve people or fewer, led by a licensed counselor

Less time away, real progress

You get real clinical care here, then practice it at home, where recovery actually happens.

Lewisville IOP: Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)?

An IOP is therapy you attend on set days, without an overnight stay. You get group and one-on-one counseling three times a week while living at home. At our Lewisville clinic, that’s nine hours total, done by 12:15 PM.

How does the Lewisville IOP work week to week?

You come three times a week. Mornings run Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:15 PM. The virtual evening track runs Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 5:30 PM to 8:45 PM. Each visit opens with a check-in, then group therapy, then a skills workshop or one-on-one time.

How much of my week does IOP actually take?

Plan on about three hours per visit, nine hours total across three sessions. Mornings finish by 12:15 PM, so your afternoons stay open. You can also book extra one-on-one counseling on top of the group hours, with no limit.

Can I reach your Lewisville IOP from Frisco or The Colony in the morning?

Yes, the timing works. Morning groups run Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and finish by 12:15 PM. The drive down I-35E from Frisco or The Colony is short before rush hour.

Does the virtual evening IOP work if I live outside Lewisville?

Yes, it does since our evening track is fully online, so patients in Flower Mound, Highland Village, Carrollton, and Frisco join from home. You only drive to Lakepointe Drive for your assessment and any medication visits.

I just left a Denton or Dallas program. Can I continue IOP here?

Yes, you can continue here. Bring your discharge notes and we coordinate a smooth handoff with your prior medical provider. Many patients move to Lewisville to be closer to home in Denton County.

What if I miss a session?

Call us at (866) 287-5921 as soon as you can. We help you slot into another group or set up a one-on-one catch-up so you do not fall behind. Life happens, and our team plans around it with you.

What happens after I finish IOP at your Lewisville clinic?

You can move to weekly counseling, or to less frequent check-ins that keep you connected to your care team. You and your counselor make that call together, and you can stay as long as it helps. The same team stays with you the whole way.

Can I attend IOP while taking Methadone or Suboxone® here?

Yes, you can do both at our Lewisville clinic. You take your medication and attend IOP in the same place. Your counselor and our medical team coordinate your care, so you are not running two separate programs in two places.

How do I start IOP at your Lewisville clinic?

Call (866) 287-5921 to set up an assessment, which can be scheduled the same day or the next. Our medical team reviews your history and confirms IOP is the right fit. Then they place you in the next morning or evening group. You can call us any time, day or night.

Looking into an IOP for Someone You Love?

If your loved one will not consider residential treatment, an IOP gives them a real way to get help without leaving home or work. Call us, and we will help you start the conversation.
