What Is IOP in Naperville?

You can do real recovery work without taking thirty days off.

Most Naperville IOPs run group sessions and refer the rest out.

Ours doesn’t. Methadone, Suboxone® (buprenorphine-naloxone), naltrexone, on-site psychiatry, and unlimited 1:1 counseling all run in the same Cantera clinic, under one treatment plan.

When the session ends, you are home for dinner.

80%

more effective than weekly outpatient alone (internal data, 2024)

Evidence-Based

Counselor-led group counseling plus individual sessions

IOP is full treatment on a working-life schedule.

You get nine hours of counseling each week, led by licensed addiction counselors, with the same evidence-based approach a residential program uses.

Is IOP in Naperville Right for You?

We built the program for adults who need real support during the day and a home environment that is safe between sessions. IOP might be right for you if:

Weekly outpatient is not enough, but inpatient does not fit your life.
You are stepping down from detox or inpatient and need ongoing structure.
You are willing to participate in group sessions with a small group of people facing the same struggles.
You can hold three appointments on the calendar each week.
A weekday morning or evening fits around your workday.
You want care that goes deeper than monthly check-ins.

Not sure if this is the right level of care?

Our clinical team helps you figure out what works best for you.

Naperville IOP: Frequently Asked Questions

What does IOP in Naperville mean?

An intensive outpatient program (IOP) combines structured group and individual counseling delivered in an outpatient setting. Our Naperville IOP program runs three days a week, so you can keep working through recovery.

How long does IOP last?

Most patients are in the program for nine to twelve weeks, though care continues as long as you need it. Most inpatient programs cap at 30 days; our program does not.

Can I keep my job while in IOP?

Yes, that is the design. Our program runs in morning and evening blocks on weekdays only, so you can keep your shift, your route, your school schedule, or your hybrid work calendar.

What if I continue to use or return to use during IOP?

You are not removed from treatment. The team is here to support you and adjust the plan based on how you are doing. Drug screens give the team clinical information they use to fine-tune your care.

Is the Naperville IOP covered by insurance?

Most commercial plans and Medicare cover IOP. Coverage varies by plan. Call us at 866-955-2481 or use our online scheduling tool, and our team verifies your benefits in minutes.

Can I join the Naperville IOP while taking methadone or Suboxone®?

Yes, many patients in the program also receive medications for opioid use disorder. Dosing happens at the same Cantera clinic where IOP runs, with one care team coordinating both.

What is the difference between IOP and standard outpatient?

Our IOP program is more intensive, meeting three days a week for nine hours of counseling. Standard outpatient is a weekly check-in. The program is for people who need closer support; outpatient is for steadier weeks.

How do I get into the Naperville IOP?

Call 866-955-2481 to schedule an intake assessment, available Monday through Thursday until 3 PM and Friday before noon. After the original assessment, we schedule you for your first session.

What happens after I finish the Naperville IOP?

After IOP, most patients shift to weekly counseling. Some stay in care for years; others reduce visits over time. Either way, your medical provider, counselor, and psychiatrist stay the same.

What if I miss a Naperville IOP session?

Call us at 866-955-2481 as soon as you can. We reschedule you into another session that week or your counselor sees you 1:1 to cover what you missed. We treat absences as part of life and plan around them.
