Symetria’s intensive outpatient program in Des Plaines gives you nine hours of counseling per week, three weekdays at a time, in mornings or evenings that fit a working schedule.
Our group sessions are small and led by a licensed addiction counselor. You work alongside people facing the same struggles, on a schedule built around weekday mornings and evenings.
When the session ends, you get to go home for dinner.

Every session at Symetria Recovery in Des Plaines combines counselor-led group work with ongoing support that goes around it. Here’s what you get:
Here is what to expect at an IOP session at our Des Plaines clinic:
Check in at the front desk, grab coffee, and meet briefly with staff about how you are doing.
Join a small group session led by a licensed counselor in a space designed for honest conversation.
Take a fifteen-minute break to step outside, reset, and get some air.
Work on coping tools, planning, and communication, or meet one-on-one with your counselor.
Wrap up by setting goals for the next few days, and head out by 12:15pm.
Some outpatient programs discharge patients who keep using, cap counseling, or send you to a separate clinic for MOUD. Our IOP doesn’t.

Admissions: 24/7 (call anytime). Intake assessments Mon/Tue/Thu until 6:30pm, Wed until 3pm, Fri until 12pm. No Saturday intakes.

An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is structured group and individual counseling delivered in an outpatient setting. The program runs three weekdays a week so you can keep working while you recover.
Most patients enroll in the program for nine to twelve weeks, though care lasts as long as you need. Unlike inpatient programs that cap at 30 days, we don’t put any restrictions for our patients as we focus on the outcome, which is recovery, not how long it takes for you to get there.
Yes, that is exactly how we have structured our program. Group sessions run in the morning and in the evening on weekdays only, so you can go to work or school.
You will not be removed from treatment at our clinic. We are here to support you and adjust the plan as needed, not to punish you. Drug screens are clinical information, not a test you pass or fail. We do everything in our power to help you get better.
