An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a structured addiction treatment program you attend several times a week while living at home. It gives you more support than weekly counseling, without the residential stay of inpatient care. At our Vernon Hills clinic, that means group counseling three mornings a week, with the rest of your week wide open.
During each session, you join a group of people at a similar stage of recovery. You also get one-on-one time with your counselor, and skills practice you can use when cravings or stress hit hard.
Each group has 12 patients or fewer and is led by a counselor licensed in Illinois. When the session ends, everyone heads back into the rest of the day, whether that means errands in Vernon Hills, a noon shift in Buffalo Grove, or kids to pick up in Lake Forest.
