The Vernon Hills clinic is at the corner of Butterfield Road and West Townline Road near Cynthia T. Peterson Park. The nearest pace bus stop is the Hawthorn Mall. An Uber health ride can be arranged from the bus stop or anywhere nearby. Patients come from across Lake County including Waukegan and North Shore communities like Lake Forest and Highland Park on Lake Michigan. This is the best Symetria location for the north Chicago suburbs, though there are other clinics throughout the collar counties.

The benefit of the Vernon Hills clinic is that you don’t have to know everything about addiction treatment upfront. You can talk through which medication is a better fit for your situation with a doctor that actually listens. You can even switch between medications if it’s not working for you. Either way, you get immediate relief from painful withdrawal symptoms and stabilize your mind to think clearer.
Vivitrol is naltrexone given as a shot once a month by a medical professional. Since it is non-addictive, it’s a great option to reduce cravings for any substance use – especially alcohol, meth and those in early opioid addiction. Revia and Depade are naltrexone in pill form that isn’t usually recommended. Asking someone struggling with drugs or alcohol to take a daily pill that will make using alcohol or drugs unpleasant isn’t setting them up for success. There is a clinical trial in Europe testing an implantable version of Naltrexone, but this is not yet available in the U.S.
Fair question. Most people here use health insurance. IOP is covered by most insurance policies, including BCBS of Illinois, Cigna, Aetna, Humana, Medicare, etc. Your cost with insurance depends on your deductible. Usually, this is a low amount, certainly more affordable than inpatient rehab. Sometimes patients owe nothing. We will check your specific policy and let you know any costs before you come in.
